I’ve never cycled before – is that okay?
Yes, everyone is welcome! Please arrive at least 15 minutes early and an experienced instructor will help you set up your bike. Although we do ride together as one, you can adjust the tension on your bike to a level that is appropriate for you.
DOESN’T CYCLING JUST USE LEG MUSCLES?
While your legs will get a workout, our classes are designed to target an even more important muscle – the heart. Spinning is a low-impact aerobic exercise perfect for improving cardiovascular fitness. We also work the core and arm muscles by adding in lightly choreographed upper body movements and by using hand weights.
How many calories will I burn in a class?
Up to 800… But don’t forget that with regular practice you will increase your metabolism which means you will burn more calories even at rest!
Is there a minimum age requirement to participate in classes? What about minimum height?
Yes, the minimum age is 15 years old, and we will need a written consent from a parent or guardian if you are under 18. Also, the minimum height requirement is 4 feet 11 inches in order to reach the pedals and ride safely given the dimensions of the bike.
What kind of bikes/pedals do you use?
All of our bikes are from the top of the line Schwinn AC Pro Series. They are road-inspired bikes which means they guarantee a fast and smooth ride. These pedals provide greater contact surface area between the shoe and pedal for enhanced comfort and power transfer.
Do I need special shoes?
Yes, you will need Look Keo Cleats which are available for purchase or rent (First visit shoe rental is free, subsequent visits $2).
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are signed up for a 6:15am or 7:15am class and can’t make it, you must cancel your booking online by 10:00pm the night prior to the class to avoid a late penalty. For all other classes, the reservation must be cancelled a minimum of 4 hours before class begins to avoid a late penalty.
All cancellations must be made through your online account, and cannot be made over the phone or through email. Your class will be returned as a class credit onto your online account and will remain there for you to use towards your next reservation.
If you haven’t cancelled your booking online within the specified time frames listed above, you will be charged as though you attended a class and the class will be deducted from your account. For monthly unlimited memberships, you will automatically be charged a $15 late cancellation fee on the credit card associated with your account. We love riding as a team so please honour your commitment and show up for your booked class.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR MONTHLY MEMBERSHIPS?
For Monthly Memberships if you fail to remove yourself within 4 hours of the class starting your account will be deducted as if you attended class. It will result in a $15 charge to the credit card associated with your account. There is a limit to attending 7 classes per week.
